StorylineXavier Alvarez est un petit architecte d'Aix-en-Provence en recherche perptuelle de reconnaissance sociale. Il s'est fait tout seul et prospre, mais ne parvient pas dcrocher de gros marchs publics pour assouvir ses rves de grandeur. Il dcide donc de se lancer corps, me et biens dans la campagne de Vincent Cluzel, le candidat outsider la mairie, persuad qu'il renverra l'ascenseur en cas de victoire. force d'nergie et de ruse, il parvient discrditer le favori et faire lire son protg. Mais leur amiti sincre, noue dans la conqute du pouvoir, se heurte alors aux limites des intrts et de l'ambition.
